I've got a Nikon P7700 on order that should arrive in 5 days. In a former lifetime I was a serious amateur back in the days of the F2 and Tri-X. Now I'm a grandpa that wants something better than a cellphone for random shots. I'm looking forward to relearning a lot here. Thanks for the access.

I'm also a grandpa and spend most of my time photographing my three grandchildren. Where else can you find models who make you smile and give you a big hug when you're done. Lots of other grandparents on this site. Enjoy your grandchildren and enjoy the hedgehog.

Well, I wound up getting a Canon 60D with the 18-135 lens. Lots to learn but I'm looking forward to it.

Great camera and lens combo. You've got wide angle, moderate telephoto and everything in the middle all in one lens. Perfect choice to photograph your grandchildren both inside and outside. You'll love it. Have fun.
