Will it be all right to use eye glass cleaner on a photographic lens.
It says on the bottle CFC free non toxic, contains no solvents or Alcohol. Many thanks.

I use it with a soft micro-fiber towel(that isn't used on anything else). I do a light spray on the towel, then wipe the lens( after using a sqeeze blower to first remove the big pieces first).

The problem with cleaning any lens is in doing damage to the anti reflective coating(on photo lenses and the more expensive eyeglass lenses). Like another poster said, if the product lists photo lenses then it should be ok.
I think lens coatings are far more resilient than some people make them out to be. I have a few lenses that I've owned and cleaned for 35 years - I have yet to see any signs of damage to the lens coating. And eye glass cleaning fluid is fairly mild stuff anyway unlike, say, turpentine.
Just be very gentle, use as little presure as possible. And make sure the cloth is absolutely clean before you start. You definitely don't want any sand particles on it!
You may want to check this thread for answers to my cleaning questions. Lens tissues and lens cleaner, not wipes may help. Gary

JR1. There are 75 topics i would have to trawl through and even then there is no guarantee of the answer i wanted, If we all just used the search facility there would be little need for a live forum
as there is rarely a question that has not been already asked.

think what JR1 was trying to say you could get thousands of replies and they will already be on here which could take a week for you to get the answer to which a quick search you would get in minutes
Whatever lens you use, go to that lens makers site and they have instructions on the best method to clean their lens.
Also, you can go to YouTube and there are numerous videos showing how to clean your lens.

Not to mention the fact that the forum exists not just to repeat topics ad nauseum...there are other reasons we come here.
I think he's also say that that it's just plain polite to a "small" amount of homework before everyone repeats the same answer over and over and over and over.... :)

Like I said there were 75 topics and would it really hurt for people to say what the answer is, I am told what a friendly place this is yet its to much trouble for some to provide an answer. I am just glad i am not a total newcomer to this site who is told try the search, as a finale i will always try to help people if i can.
Lens Pens .. Works for me.

I would stay away from using it on your camera lens, even if it says no solvents, etc. eye glass cleaners use different formulas than photographic lens cleaners, that can potentially harm your lenses coatings.
