I love Western films.
When you think about it you can see why they don't make them anymore, They're racist, violent, they have guns, booze, gambling, prostitution.

I like them too. Do you remember the movie "High Noon" with Gary Cooper? It was the first western I ever saw where the hero was afraid. I was very young but I'll never forget it.

I like the old Westerns too and even the Andy Griffen Show are fun to watch, And I really enjoy the old Tarzan movies with Johnny Weissmuller as well.

Ive been on a western marathon lately on Netflix.
I don't understand how you could consider westerns as something worse than what is aired now days. Today they contain all of what you've mention plus much more vulgarity, and numerous drugs on top of alcohol and even more ways to murder people. Westerns seem pretty mild to me in comparison. If anything I's say they're less popular because there are more city slickers today and the movies aren't violent enough for today's standards. Not to mention that most of the good actors for westerns are dying off.
