My sister and brother-in-law are creating some interesting clothes out of llama fiber. I have found that they are great cool and cold weather photography clothes. Light and warm.

I prefer Alpaca. But you need a fat wallet.
I wear layers and no cotton

www.altiplanoinsulation.comThe wind shirt and the 1/2 zip knit are my favorites. Llama fiber is hollow, so the fibers insulate and breath. Good for about a 50 degree variance in temperature. I can wash them at home, they don't pill, last forever, and other good things. Not that I am trying to make a sale, however.
I wear a wool fisherman sweater over a t shirt. over that is a zip up wind shell. more importantly I use woolen shooter gloves with the fingers removed at the first joint or rifle shooter leather gloves with the index finger truncated àt the first joint (right handed in my case). Fingers get colder faster than anything. Good luck.
