The American Air Museum was built to commemorate the 30,000 american airmen who gave their lives flying from bases in the U.K. during WWII, and other conflicts in the 20th and 21st centuries. It houses the largest collection of historic U.S. military aircraft in Europe.
There are a lot of photo's to show you so have kept the file size small so apologise for that.
The museum is near Cambridge and is a must visit.

Looks like a wonderful museum...they have a little bit of everything. My Grandfather helped in building B-25's at North American Aviation in Kansas City Missouri during WWII. Nice to see you have one of them at your museum. I bet you had a great time. Thanks for sharing your trip with us.

Interestingly, the Lockheed SR-71 "Blackbird" there is the only one on display outside of the US.

Thanks for the images, great place to visit when they have flying days, not many places that manage to put 9 Spitfires up flying in formation!

I am impressed with your photos and thank you for posting them. I was surprised to see some more current planes including the B-52 and SR-71.
