Pointless for the average person as the file sizes will be silly, but the advance in technology will help in the future

This is moving into the H4D-60 Medium Format DSLR Camera range, however at 75 megapixels it boils down to a value of actually 25 MP with better color renditions, seems they would do better to open the color channels to 16 or 18 instead of 12 or 14 for color improvement. Size wise the storage media (SD card or whatever) would need to have a large capacity and the camera would require a large buffer, also the speed of write would probably be slow. Somehow the camera manufacturers have got themselves into a resolution war with the highest MP race when other features would be more important to the average photographer, it would be nice to see them concentrate on cleaning up noise at extreme ISO rather than who has the highest MP.

And improve the overall quality of the construction. Some of the newer cameras are pretty flimsy--JMHO. Maybe improve some of the "kit lenses"

It is to hope they get it right, as apposed to Sigma (they sure did not).Even Foeveon did better (back in 2006 when they had their own 58MP camera out ).

This reminds me of colour film with three emulsions and filters between.
