Drove to a nearby Nat'l Wildlife Refuge today hoping for some photo ops. Nary an Osprey or alligator or ANYTHING anywhere in sight.
Heading back home, spotted some blooms in a water filled roadside ditch in Gulf Coast Mississippi. Anybody know what these are?

Thanks for the info. I knew someone on UHH would be able to identify them. I googled to learn more - might be taking a shovel with me on my next trip there.
Don't suppose you see too many in Arizona!
Right, none here but managed to spend a lot of time in Florida and was into the plants and reptiles
We called them spider lilies where I grew up.
It's a variety of Crinum. Common name is swamp lily or string lily.
