On my back porch. The stringy stuff is her web. Did I really get that close? Yes, a macro but she did not seem to me being this close.

Good picture of the black widow. That stringy, clumsy looking web is typical of the critter. Did you take the pic at night?

Pretty cool. I never have a problem coming right up to them when they are in their web. I have not seen one in a while. When I do, I will have my macro lens on, that's for sure.

Thanks. I have never seen one during the day, but occasionally see their non-geometric chaotic webs with daylight.

All i do is kill them in my yards. But here is one interesting tid-bit.....During WWII, The Army Air Force bred Black Widows for their webs. The web strings were used in the Nordon bomb sight, because the web strings were absolutely perfect for use as cross-hairs.
