Light reflector suggestions

I bought a light reflector a few years ago, but have not used it. I know they can be very useful, but without a second set of hands, it is difficult to get the benefit of reflected light. Any suggestions on how to best use them without an assitant to help.

You can purchase a holder for them (Manfrotto) and put them on a light stand. Hope this helps.

Thanks digicamking. I need to go to the Cameras Brookwood here in Birmingham and see what kind of stands they have. They are the only really good camera store in the area.

Put them on some kind of stand. Either one you make or adapt yourself or one that is custom made.

Prop in on a chair, or against any vertical object. I have also used an easel.

Two other alternatives to an assistant. 1. Use remote shutter release and hold the reflector yourself. 2. Use 2sec or 10 sec time delay. (A little more tricky). I've done the remote shutter release thing and it works OK. DJT

Order a catalog from Adorama or B&H Photo- you'll see what is available to support reflectors and light modifiers.

If you have a living breathing subject have them hold it

I picked up an old projector screen for a £1.00 from a car boot it only gives me white but it works well for me with bounce flash, I suppose I could hang a disk on it with blue tack or sticky tape.
