What do you guys think about this deal? I've bought from them before. Is this a good system for PP with LR and CS5?

Tigerdirect is good, and my son has had an HP that has been running fine for a couple of years. I'd lean toward a Core i7 and 16GB of memory.

This guy has a food explanation of differences between i5 and i7 http://youtu.be/mJ3yUin8d9E

The i7 would be better if the programs you have take advantage of the processor. I don't know if LR and CS5 do.

I took a quick look online to see if any Adobe programs take advantage of hyperthreading. I didn't get a solid answer.

If you don't get good responses to your thread, I'd repost with a different title. These people like to talk about computers.

I have the I5 on a Toshiba laptop. I'm not crazy about intel at all, I always use AMD. I needed a computer fast one day cause my desktop went nuts cause of the hard drive. This looked faster then the AMD laptop so i went for it and it was cheaper.
I'm going to get ready soon to build a new desktop, I just really don't like laptops. I just want to research the AMD processors before I buy anything.
For now the i5 is ok. it works. I think its the windows 8 that is not stable at all.

For the difference in price I would opt for i7 PC, is faster and has more memory, It will probably be a long time before you buy another PC:

For a good explanation of CPU differences see:

The i5 I posted had more capability then the i7. Graphics is included, bluetooth, and a larger hard drive. Right now I have a Core 2, 7gb ram, 750gb HD so this i5 would be a major improvement.

So I'd have to add about $75 for a 2gb card.
