I don't consider myself Liberal - but all my family thinks I'm Liberal - so I guess I am Liberal and don't realize it. I think a lot of Liberal policies are wonderful - but the problem comes with How to Pay for the programs.
Here's what I would suggest our nation do - because I do think that our nation does lean more Liberal these days - for one thing the minority populations have grown and as well so has the minority economy grown. I work with a number of minority liberals - and I love each and every one of them. So I say this nation begin a National Revenue Savings and Trust Account in every bank FDIC insured in the country. On Pay Day - your taxes are deposited into the account to be put to work before the government spends it. If fact, the goal is to eventually run the government on the interest this account earns alone. Now, I don't see this account as a CD type account were if a $1000 is put in at the end of the year you might earn $30 while the bank earned thousands off your thousand. NO it would be a non-profit account - however, it would have performance bonuses - where if the bank earns $100 million the bank gets to keep a million of it. Now here is the great thing about this account - the tax payer gets to maintain 50% ownership of all revenue paid into the program - owner only as collateal or dividend earner. Now just think if an industry could take out a loan against their taxes paid - or earn a dividend from the taxes paid - that industry would be encouraged to stay in America - some might want to come back home - and foreign industries encouraged to bring their business here as well. Also the 50% ownership of your taxes that could earn you a dividend or be used as collateral for a loan - the best part of this ownership of 50% you ever paid - YOU COULD LEAVE IT IN YOU WILL to whoever you wanted to inherit the funds. This National Savings Account should grow to about $50 trillion in fifty years time - earning enough interest that the government would no longer need your tax dollars - and the people entering the work force for the first time would only pay into the system for about 6 years, and then live tax free from then own. We know this works because many wealthy people are able to live off the interest that their money earns and that after paying brokers and dealing with commercial savings and loan operations. And think of this - Joseph in the Bible - sold into slavery - told the Pharaoh to save grain for seven years. Guess what other benefit came from this vested economic system. The corruption began to police itself. Now you would not want to begin this National Savings Account at a 100% level on day one - that would shock the E-Con-NO-Me. Rather 3% the first year, 5% the next, 8% the next and so on and so forth until 100% of all revenue was flowing into the account. Here is another example of how well this would work - consider the bailout of AIG - $32 Billion paid off in 5 years with a $20 billion net profit as well. So that is back door vested economics - how much better would this perform with front door vested economics. This account grows powerful enough to run Liberal Programs such as single payer option health care. Back to the inheritance component, now our common wealth would grow exponentially - generation upon generation. Now consider this as well - the 50 year plan for the nation to become tax free. So an industrialist might say - I'll be dead by then - nothing in this plan for me. OH no Mr. Industrialist - if you hire more people to ease the work load of your current employees - and you pay them more - therefore more revenue - we can compress this plan into 25 years or even 15 years. Consider this: in the state of Georgia the number one profit maker is Coca Cola - reporting a $3.2 Billion Net Profit. NET Profit - why that one company in just one state - has enough NET Profit to hire every human in this nation that is out of work - just that one company. Now consider the OIL companies $258 billion average net profit - Then consider APPLE computer - $650 billion in their best year.
So folks the money is here - if we can convince the government that our tax dollars need to be put to work and then the government run on and live off the interest - and even have more money than they current are able to tax. Enough interest for whatever Liberal Policies they want to make. Without redistribution of the wealth - rather a motivational vested economic system. A system were by the cooruptions police themselves - for example - if we are all working toward a tax free society - with people understanding that tax evasion weakens the ends to our means - perhaps more people will turn in that bume that is stealing the grain so to speek - this is what worked for Joseph in Egypt - the grain theives were caught by all those people many more people VESTED in a better grain storage to avoid the famine that was coming.
So I don't think of myself as being so much of a Liberal - as I think more of myself as a PROBLEM SOLVER. This what we need to do - stop electing politicians and start electing Problem Solvers.

Lets stop being Liberal or Conservative - and Lets start being PROBLEM SOLVERS. Money works best when money works for US instead of us working for the money. Trickle Down turned out to be bubble and bust. Lets stop having a bubble and bust E-Con-NO-Me.
