Returning a SanDisk Card

I've had several Craftsman tools from Sears break over the years. They're guaranteed for life, so I'd walk in with the tool, show it to a salesman, and he'd go over and get a new one for me. Simple.

If you want to return a defective SD card to SanDisk, it's a different story. Take a look here.

Must be the fact it's High Tech...LOL...Personally, I think they make it a chore or difficult so you say "screw this, it ain't worth the trouble" so you go out and buy another. Viola, they make another sale.

Unfortunately it's become general practice I think amongst many companies. You know the ole' saying "they don't make things like they used to" now it reads..."We no longer make things to last" sorry for the inconvenience.

We are increasingly becoming a disposable society. ;)

It's getting to be the way of the world.Try and get a hold of a major business about a error on a bill"Bell"in Canada to rectify an overcharge.(which happens often ) of no more than 10 dollars. First when you call your automatically sent to a foreign country in Q with god awful music with a recorded message breaking in every minute to stay on the line because your business is important to them.HA HA. Afer 30-45 minutes ,if lucky, someone that you can't understand and visa versa, answers and the fun begins. Needless to say after one experience like that you pay the ten dollars or so and shut up or go to another provider.Which I did.

Equivalent PNY cards are 20-25% less expensive and I've NEVER gotten a bad card. Good-bye, Sandisk.

What bothers me most with calls like this, we (I) as Americans have to press one to speak English...shouldn't it be press one to speak in an other language... please hold if you speak English?
I do tell them I don't cotten to the (why should I have to press one) and usually don't continue doing business with them .

I recently caught a young man "borrowing" 2,000 dollars worth of my stuff from inside my car and doing another 4,000 in damage to do that. One of the things taken was a Garmin 350LM that I used on my motorcycle trips. I called Garmin hoping to find out if there was a way they could Geo locate the Garmin if someone used it.....Their web site does not make it an easy task and calling customer support gave me an Estimated Wait time of 46 minutes for the next available Representative. I opted to try it two ways...One was an email, which they claim are answered within 24 hours...and the other, live chat which never came on board to chat with me about the question. The email has gone two weeks now without a response. Just seems that no one is really interested in good customer service or support anymore. They better hope I never become a multibillionair because I am buying companies that do this and firing the Management staff that either approves those things or the person that designed them or both.

Seems to be a lot of chitchat about Sears and their policy of replacing one of their items. I had a multipurpose sprayer head - rotating type head for different water spray patterns - the original was made of metal - possible pot metal, stamped USA on it - anyway it leaked down my arm every time I turned on the water hose pressure (miserable to work with) - leaked back on me if held up at an angle so I decided to take the sprayer in - exchange it for another multipurpose sprayer - I went looking for it's replacement on my own and could not find one even similar to my metal one - found only plastic units (made in China stamped on it) - didn't look anything like my old unit but did have the Sears stamping on it also. Took it to the sales desk and they exchanged it without any fuss. The old unit was approximately three years old, made of pot metal, looked entirely different than the replacement unit (plastic).
I know there is such a thing as advancing technology for all products but why plastic over a metal unit? Yea, cheaper I suspect.
My point is this - when we buy something and take it back for replacement - why can't we get a product of equal or better value made of a similar substance, manufactured in the USA.? Sears my consider their replacement as good or better than my original metal item but to me it just doesn't look or feel the same in my hand as the original did when first bought. I have had the new one about two weeks now and it works well enough but I do miss the feel of the old one in my hand. I really can't describe it any other way other than feel. The times are a-change-in my friends.

So, because it's simpler than a twelve step program, I suppose we should bow and submit... LOL

You might also find out the hard way that Sears' Craftsman tools are no longer guaranteed for life. That was when they were made in the US. Now they're made in China and there's no guarantee.
Another lousy example of corporate outsourcing.
