Sorry, response unintelligible.
I think he meant "Sure. They're old, and called Brownies". :) The smart-ass in me wants to make a comment about people with poor English skills typing on their phones with big thumbs, but I won't. (Or is it "there fonez"???)

:) :) :)

I won't say I'm tired of that kind of response, but...... Anyway, just like "Kourtesy Kops" I'm tired of dealing with it. By the way, I have no problem with anyone to whom English is a second language, nor to people who have not had the advantage of a higher education as long as they make a reasonable effort. My father didn't speak English or write cursive until he was 12 years old, but by the time I was born, he spoke English without a German accent, spoke German without an English accent, was a strict grammarian in both languages and had the most beautiful Spencerian handwriting I have ever seen - and never went past the 8th grade!

I know exactly what you mean, and I agree completely. I am often puzzled at the rather common outlook that celebrates inaccuracy as a form of self-expression. I believe the US public education system is to blame, in many cases. And I've heard all the nonsense about "English is an evolving language, so it's ok to..." whatever. That's idiotic. English is an evolving language in that "google" is now a perfectly good verb, and idioms like 'friends with benefits' become part of the vernacular. It doesn't mean you can substitute "there" for "their" or "they're", or that "me and him went to the truck races" or 'her and me got engaged.' are acceptable constructions.

All you say is true Captain, I can ignore the buttons but I can't ignore the added cost of a feature that I will never use. In 50 years of photography I've never had a need for video for Landscape or Macro.

Does anyone make a current DSLR or μ4/3 camera that does NOT have video capabilities? The last one I had was a Canon 50D. Now that I am physically capable of holding a larger camera steady for a short time without shaking, I am looking for a new (or refurbished) contemporary camera, but I do not like video; it adds components, buttons, procedures and weight I do not want or need. I can also get by without high ISO capacity, super shutter speeds or a moveable LCD (to tell the truth, I don't even need live view, but I guess I have no choice). I would like to have ISO as low as 100 and, if possible, a real optical viewfinder. Please tell me such a camera exists. Thank you for your help.

Not current. My D300 does not have video. They are available for around $500-$850 depending on condition/shutter actuations. It's a tank--- with no plastic. I hammer nails with it on the weekend.
