This is a reconstructed bridge, in the approximate location of the old bridge. This bridge, when it was used, assisted the crossing of the Verde River. Flocks were moved north in the summer and back to the valley in for the winter.

Wow! I don't know if we saw that when we rode the Verde Canyon train four years ago. If so we didn't know what it was for. If I were a sheep, though, I wouldn't step foot on that bridge. Heights terrify me.

Chances are, you didn't get near it if you were on the Verde Canyon RR. As for the bridge itself, I walked across it and back. It is quite solid. The walkway is a bit uneven, but very stable.
