Wasn't impressed with this mornings shots, live and learn I guess. I had thought that as the moon got closer to the horizon it'd get fatter and brighter...not so...instead as it sank lower, the daylight got brighter and the moon just basically faded to nothing before it even got to the horizon.
This 1st one is the shot I had in my mind only with it sitting right on the horizon...

The 2nd shot happened just as the sun popped over the trees...this is when I decided that getting up at 4:45am may have just been worth it after all.

That sun is absolutely drop-dead GORGEOUS!!

I haven't been able to get a moonset for months and months - always overcast at the "wrong" time :)

Excellent sun rise. I wonder if the one tomorrow will be as dramatic as this? Take a couple of shots of it and compare :-)

The first is quite wonderful, but the second could be on the cover of a magazine or blown up on a canvas and hung on the wall.

wow, everyone jumped in here and commented while I was napping, usually like to thank each one or at least quote each but hey, let me tell you, your comments are all very much appreciated...thank you!!!

Here is another angle, has some kind of weird sun flair, the V shaped light thing...

Love the beautiful sunrises! But the supermoon is also very cool. How many moon shots from that distance would be so detailed and colorful?
