Can't comment on 40D but my NEX 6 is the best camera I've ever owned. Cane913

A more logical comprison would be 7D vs NEX 7. Note- the 7D weighs in at $1,400, the NEX 6 at $700 and change. I use the NEX 5R, and I am loving it, after adjusting to the many settings available. That is just a dumb user comment- the user comments I find on the NEX line are extremely positive. Only downside- using the screen to view photos in the sun can be frustrating.

They are not comparable. The 7D is superb. Top of the line and does everything. I have one for sale with two "L" lenses and a lot of accessories. I went to the Sony NEX7 because I am really too old to carry around the kit I have with the 7D. If you are interested in my 7D let me know and I'll send you all of the details and price. I use a Sony A-900 and long have coveted the Nex-7. There are reliable rumors that Sony will introduce a replacement for the Nex-7 this Fall. It's supposed to have much improved focus compared to prior Sony models. I'm holding off until this new camera comes out in a few months.
