I was fortunate in that the manager let me in about 1 hour before opening. So, other than the staff needing to wander through periodically, I had the small dining area all to myself.
It minimized the potential concerns of patrons wanting to know what I was going to do with the photograph.
However, yes, I generally do eat by myself, though the restaurant is usually pretty crowded.

The manager let me in about an hour before they opened for the day. I, intentionally, wanted to avoid the hassle of working around customers, etc. It would have been very difficult to avoid blurred people with a 6 second exposure.
Once they open for the day, it gets crowded quite quickly, as the food is great and the service is also.
