I have a NIKKORS Auto 1:1.4 50mm prime lens that was used on a NIKORMAT film camera (Yes, an old one like me). The camera was dropped and the threaded filter ring was damaged beyond repair. The basic lens is fine but will not accept any filters. I sent it to Nikon and they told me, "Sorry, the part to replace the filter acceptance ring is no longer in stock."
Does anyone know of a place that maybe could replace this lens filter ring? :?:

You could get a list of all Nikon authorized repair facilities and check with each one to see if they have the part i stock. One such facility in Enfield CT is Precision Camera. Otherwise if it's gone and no longer manufactured then you are out of luck

Try rickriggins@discountcamerarepair. He's a member here, and he might have what you need. I asked a seller on eBay who I've dealt with before, so we'll see what he has to say.
To simply get the part, you could buy a non-functioning or heavily damaged lens of the same model on ebay for very little money and remove the ring from it. As long as the ring on the scrap lens is intact, that's all you need - doesn't really matter if the aperture doesn't work, the glass is shattered, infested with fungus, or the mounting section is broken. You will toss the rest of the lens out anyway once the ring is removed.

Thank You all for your prompt replays. As Sherlock would say, "Aha, the games afoot." And now I have some places I knew nothing about before and perhaps I will get it fixed! Thanks again all!

Try John White's AI Conversion for Nikon Lens.
http://www.aiconversions.com/Although it seems he does mainly AI Conversion, maybe he has a ring he can use to replace yours? I can't recommend him yet because I've not used him. However, a few other UHH recommends him.

You could probably buy another one doc for what the repair is gonna cost .....
There are about a dozen of these on eBay right now. All seem to be in decent working order. Lowest starting price is $44.99 US
I wonder how that price compares to 1970's dollars. That camera probably sold for something in the $200 range back then.
I would get a filter a size smaller and put it in the lens inside the bad thread. so ok then you need a smaller filter in the future,, but your problems solved ...don't forget to put a small amount of glue to hold it in I did this with my Blad.. I had many 52 mm filters from my Nikon range of cameras, To buy a gen Hasselblad filter Id need to take a loan out on the house. so this was my way around it. a 52mm fitted into it just nice.
