Hi Everyone. I'm here to learn
I got my first camera at the beginning of 2008 (Sony P & S). It got dropped when I gave it to someone to take a picture of me and my partner on the Great Wall of China. I am currently on my third P&S. I would like to move onto a higher quality camera, so I'm trying to learn as much as possible from everyone here.
Someone posted a new topic about Fire Engines and I remembered when we were renovating our house during the Australian winter of 2010. I heard a commotion one morning and looked out to see a rubbish truck on fire in front of our front yard. (Remember - we are building, so it is a sham mozzle) The final picture is where my battery went flat.
On the street in front of our front yard, a rubbish truck is on fire
Oh dear! (*!?%!!!???)
What can we do??!!! (#%@***???!!!)
OK Lads, now I want you to dump all your burning rubbish onto the road!!!! ........ And my battery went flat-----!
A lesson learned; Always have a spare battery handy!!!
Flat battery on location, That's a hanging offence??? Welcome jade Warrior, have fun at the hog.

True, or at least make sure that the one you have is properly charged! Thanks for your comment. It is midnight here so I'm off to bed but I will reply to messages when I check my email in the morning. Take care!

Thank you Rich. I will be sure to buy a back up battery when I decide on my next camera. I will post some more photos in the near future. Regards.
Welcome. So, sans the last few pictures, what happened with the garbage fire?

Welcome,good place to learn.
Thank you AuntyM. Well--- They emptied the contents of the truck out so there was a big pile of smoldering rubbish on the ashfelt. Obviously the fire department got it under control pretty quickly. Then a truck with some heavy machinery on the back arrived and they started to scoop the rubbish up and load it back into the garbage truck.
I left for work and when I returned that evening all that was left was a dirty sludgy stain on the surface of the road. A few days later, after some rain, it disappeared.... But you will just have to take my word for it, because ..... my battery .......
