This is the only natural lake in Tennessee. Caused by earthquakes along the New Madrid fault line in winter of 1812-1813. Mississippi River backed up for several days to fill it.
Near starve pond
Gray's ditch
Near Burnt Woods
Great Blue Heron
South shore
Lilly
Egret near Walnut Log portion of lake
Walnut log. East side of lake.
Great set. Gray's ditch looks very like some areas of Yorkshire along the canal from Skipton to Wigan. The mist really makes it.

Beautiful area I hunted down their about 10 years ago. it looks good even in November, great country.
Thanks. I grew up East of Memphis and fished Reelfoot many times as a kid with my dad, now 93. This brings back good memories.
Good series of photos. I love Reelfoot Lake. Lived in Southeast Missouri when young and visited Reelfoot quite often. Can't remember the name, but there was a restaurant there that served the best country ham and red eye gravy ever. Thanks for the memories.
That would be Boyettes. Little old lady working the register has been ther 40 odd years. The fish and country ham are still great. Same knotty pine paneled walls.
