Thanks, Tom. Most anyone who appreciates a Guinness knows exactly what that photo is without being told.

Thanks, Geoff. I appreciate the compliment.

Nice...I used a speed graphic to shoot crime scenes with back in the late 60s. Add a Honeywell strobe and monster battery pack and a dozen film holders and my back would be breaking. Ahhhh...the good ole days. ;-)

Way cool!!!. I started with a Speed Graphic when I wanted to move to large format. The the View Camera came available and that was it. Talk about backbreaking, The case for the View Camera is 9"x12"x20" (22.8cmx30.5cmx51cm) and weighs about 15~20lbs (7-9kg).
Oh, and the necessary tripod is probably about 10lbs (4.5kg).
Nothing like hiking around with that. As one of the Weston brothers said,"There is nothing worth photographing more than 300 yards from the car".

Never used a tripod...filled my pockets with plates, slung the battery over my shoulder and was off. Great thing about the SG was its DOF. Are you using a digital back or processing and scanning?

No digital back for me. The only one of which I know is way to expensive. So, my medium and large format work is film. I am wet photographer when it comes to film. I've two JOBO processors and do get to smell fixer from time to time. Then I use an Epson scanner for digitizing.

Ahhh...the smell of fixer. You sure bring back memories. Don't suppose you'd be interested in a Pentax 6x7 that just sits on my shelf acting as a bookend? PM me if so...just so we don't bore the rest of the 'hoggers'. ;-)

I'd love to. Who knows? It's not that far from Tempe to S. Cal.
