For some time I have been using a a Cannon Powershot with Aperture and it has worked great with Aperture. Recently I bought a coolpix (Rugged/waterproof) and it takes quite good pictures. Problem is, with the Cannon, I get beautiful full screen shots on my iMac 27 inch.
With the Coolpix, and I download the photos to Aperture, there is about a two inch space on each side of the picture. I am currently using 4608 X 3456* in the image mode setting. Is there another setting to use to get the full screen shots like I do with the powershot?
Look for a setting on the camera for a 16:9 format.
Most cameras let you shoot in 4:3, 3:2 or 16:9 formats.
16:9 is "widescreen" format for widescreen monitors, tv's, etc
3:2 is the format to make 4x6 or 8x12 prints without cropping
4:3 is the format to make 6x8 or 12x16 prints with little to no cropping.
Does Aperture work with a PC?

No. I don't think so. I think it is pretty much an Apple thing.
