I've been having trouble with Lightroom 3 recently. Sometimes I can't delete or do other processes using the mouse and have to go to the menu at the top which is a pain. Sometimes closing LR or re-booting the computer solves that. Now I can't export images. The export menu comes up, I fill that out and then nothing happens. I've closed and re-opened LR and also re-booted the computer to no avail. Does anyone have any other idea what could be going on or had similar issues?
If not, does anyone know whether this would be perpetuated if I upgrade LR to 4 or the beta 5?
Thanks so much in advance for any help you can offer. ~Donna

Well....Unless we can get a good understanding of 'the problem', we won't be able to give you more than a shot in the dark.
Do you have ANYTHING else running on you computer? Like a browser with a WHOLE BUNCH of tabs open? Try closing down everything except LR and try again.

Gee, Wall-E - I thought I did explain it pretty well. After I re-booted LR was the only thing open and the export function wouldn't work. Thanks for trying.

I doubt that you turned off your anti-virus and firewall software, and any other 'utilities' you have installed.
Could you provide us a screen shot of the export dialog box? Or better yet, a screenshot of the entire screen AFTER you try to export?

I just tried to do a screenshot and couldn't of either but they look completely normal. I'm not a new LR user. And I've also never had this issue before so not sure why I'd need to turn off anti-virus or firewall software when I've never had to before. I will try that in a bit though. Thanks again for your suggestions.

Donna, It soundslike there is a problem with your copy of LR and I think upgrading to LR4 would help. LR4 was a big improvement over LR3 and I think you will be happy with it. I wouldn't do the LR5 beta. I'd let them work out the bugs for a while. If you remember LR4 had a lot of problems right out of the gate with slow running features etc. It took them a good 6 months to figure it all out.
If after upgrading, you still have a problem, you can get in touch with Adobe via their website.
Let us know how you make out.

Well it must have become corrupted then because I've only recently started having problems. Another one I posted about in the past month or so was an inability to check more than one image at a time (ie click one block, shift and then click the end in a series) when uploading. I've always had to check each one individually which is a real PIA! lol Thanks for your input. Much appreciated and I will update. I don't think I have the funds to update at the moment and I need to resolve this for a client, darn it.

These could be hardware problems, too. Make sure you always have things backed up just in case the computer kicks the bucket. You should have someone do a diagnostic test on it.
When I have a specific lightroom problem like you are experiencing, I go to the Lightroom forum, staffed by Lightroom pros. Their link is
http://www.lightroomforums.net/forum.phpThey have nailed many problems for me Give it a try.

Thanks, sodapop. Great idea. Thanks!
Update on this issue....I can export some images but not others. Seems the ones I was originally trying to export may have some issue I haven't figured out yet but I can export. Hmmmmmm. Went to that LR forum but it's not letting me introduce a new topic. There's no button showing up to allow me to. I need to get my computer guy to check out my computer. I used to have Google but that seems to have changed to something else without my permission so I have to slow down and figure out what's going on.
That to all of you for your help.
The forum is free but you have to sign up and get a password....that's all. Then you can start a thread

Ok, I'll look again. I didn't say there was a cost....just that there was no posting button where the instructions said there would be. Thanks!
