Just getting here and could use some help with buying on line!
I'm looking to upgrade to a rebel T5i. My question is has anybody bought from 42nd St, Camera? Their price body only is $625 with so many scams out there, thought I'd ask! thanks Basil

There are some on here who have had no problems. I for one would never buy there again, only because they were so rude and pushy. There were no issues with my T3i purchased in Nov 2012 - though the accessories I foolishly bundled were worth about 1/4 what I paid for them!

I can only tell you that I have many purchases from B&H Photo via their website & telephone with complete satisfaction.

I have also purchased from Cameta Camera on Long Island in person. However, they also do internet sales.

Their rep is not the best in the world. I much prefer Adorama, B&H, Cameta Camera or Berger Brothers.

Cameta Camera and Berger Brothers are within 10 minutes from me.

All sites mentioned here have sites online.

Go to reseller ratings to check out people you don't know. As a guy who has bought way too much I tell folks to use B&H and/or Adorama for new stuff. Their prices are always competitive and if you have a problem they'll take care of you.Welcome to UHH! You can learn here. Mike

If you think a seller may not be legit or trustworthy, check them out before you right click and fill your shopping cart.
http://www.resellerratings.com/
If you are still have doubt check the Better Business Bureau, its usually specific to the area or state they are allegedly operating.
So many untrustworthy web sellers may have as many as nine listings on the Internet, and some of the phone listings will lead you back to back to an address or store front< if there is actually a brick and mortar store associated with the address or phone.
There are sound reasons why Adorama and B&H are stop sellers.

Welcome to our forum!

The lowest price is not always the best buy. There are many reputable sellers and many more who are not. Checking here is a good idea.

I bought my new Sigma 18-250mm f/3.5-6.3 from them.
Just be careful when buying used or grey market items.
Ask B&H or Adorama to match 42nd's price.
Insure your investment.

I like shopping at B&H. I had a problem with an Olympus camera and B&H helped to solve the problem with Olympus. Also make sure you get a USA camera and warranty.

When I was searching for the camera I recently purchased I found they (42nd St. Camera) had the best price, but when I did further research, including their problems 'resolved' via BBB.... I became a bit squeamish, and decided to purchase elsewhere, even though the price was a bit higher. Each to his/her own I guess. Good Luck.

They are a great place to do a price match with. Any place that you call and 42SC will call you back has the right to be "PUSHY." You have the right to say NO. As has been mentioned they will try to sell UP to a worthless pack. The go to price 749 USD as benched marked by Canon on line sales. Again you can use the tactics of price match and use 42SC. If I can buy local from a brick and mortar with a person that I can relate too I do. Good shooting. "JR"

Hunts photo in MA has great customer service, free shipping and for a short time longer no sales tax the feeds are going to take that away from us soon.
