Best Tripod for Light and Small Cameras

My wife and I have a very nice collection of new cameras we picked for light weight and small size. Between us we have a Panasonic FZ150, Panasonic LX7 and a Sony RX100. The heaviest is 1.5 pounds. The lightest is half a pound.

I want a "quality" tripod that is designed for light weight cameras. It has to collapse to a small package for travel in carry on luggage, be reliable, well made and quick to operate.

Suggestions? Thanks.

Bill

Bill - it may not quite be what you're expecting, but, for your interest, why not have a look around this site -

I have the small video version. The head is remarkably smooth for panning and tilting. I like it a lot. My current "go very light" kit is the Gorillapod, my Sony RX100 and a charge cord.

When I have more room and space, I still want a tripod built for a small camera.

Fine Bill - take a good look at what JR1 suggests - he's usually got some great options !

Sirui makes some wonderful compact tripods that work very well.
I have a T-005X that I use with a Nikon D7000 but would also go nicely with a smaller camera. It comes with a ball head and mounting plate that is Arca compatible and a great carrying case. It collapses to about 14 inches. You can get it in aluminum for $140 or carbon T-025 for $220

For small pocket cameras, I have really enjoyed using a simple $2.50 flexible tripod - http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/272486-REG/Sunpak_620_786_Tabletop_Tripod_with_Flexible.html

This combined with the self-timer function allows you to take time exposure photos very simply. I have used it on the hoods or tops of parked cars, the railing of bridges, etc. to get some gorgeous evening and night shots.

Nice! That one is small and light. I like it except for the price.

I found a Sony that is slightly lighter and smaller and lots cheaper. http://www.amazon.com/Sony-VCT-R100-Lightweight-Compact-Tripod/dp/B000EFIJTA/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1369498345&sr=1-1&keywords=sony+tripod
