Super sharp focus. His eye is tack sharp and you can see the tiny detail of his feathers.

You must have been pretty close and had good technique to accomplish all that.

In addition, his wing tips just skimming the water and his reflection give the photo much added interest.

I would maybe crop it to leave a bit more space in front of him if you have room.

I wish we had that kind of bird around my neck of the woods.We do get herons and they nick all the fish out
of the fish ponds.Marto.

There is no room. You're looking at full frame.

You could extend it with photoshop, ie, flip a free transform or using content aware.

Are you saying that Photoshop will allow me to continue (the water) beyond the border of the picture ?

I was quite close as he went by. The lens is an 18-300 Nikkor set at 165mm
