I saw a scene like that with the, crossing the road. Parents at either end and kids in the middle. I wonder how they figure that out.

Hi Jerry,
I wouldn't bet on it, but I think these 'parents' even had the 'kids' lined-up according to age :)

Hi Jerry,
That's our footbridge leading from Iowa to Nebraska, over the Missouri River. First foot bridge to connect two states.

I thought it was an Interstate highway.

That looks like a long walk.

No Jerry, not a highway:o) Actually it's less than one mile from one end to the other. If you google 'john kerry foot bridge', you can find a lot of info and photos concerning it. It's turning into quite an attraction for both states, with activities, (especially in the nicer weather), taking place at either end of the bridge.
My wife and I each must use handicap scooters now, to make it across, but it's still an enjoyable 'trip', even then.

Interesting. I live near the Hudson River, and there was an old railroad bridge crossing the Hudson, but it was shut down years ago. After funding-raising for years, they got enough money to have it turned into a walkway. It was quite a project, and now it's a beautiful way to cross the Hudson - about 2+ miles. Fortunately, there is no charge to walk across it - not so far at least.

I much prefer seeing our tax dollars, and monies raised going for projects like that than so many wasteful ways. Two miles, according to John Wayne is 'just a stretch of the legs' :)

I think the majority of local projects are privately funded. It's only the real necessities that get tax money.
