Went to Cape May New Jersey which is a major stop for migrating birds. I took 1500 pictures and some of them even came out pretty well. I'm posting these now, and will post some more if I have any more decent shots. These were taken with a Nikon 400mm f/2.8 that the local photo shop that sponsored the trip was loaning to the people on the trip. Some other bazookas that they had for us to play with were 600mm f/4.5 300mm f/2.8 The 400 was my favorite. I had a hard time finding targets in the 600. (It had a doubler on it which might explain why it was hard to find targets.) Great day of shooting. Overcast sky.

Nice work
Pierre
Thanks for taking a look, Pierre. It was a fun day.
Nice shooting. That's one of my favorite places.
Thanks for the compliment, Big Bear.
Very enjoyable. I went to Cape May once during migration, as well. Smithsonian trip when I lived near DC couple of decades ago. Were you there just for the one day, and strictly for birds? Or go into town for architecture? Ocean?
Thank's Bob. Appreciate the view.
Thank's for taking a look, Linda. We really didn't get into town (pitty)since it was just a day trip. Cape May is only about 90 miles from my home. Nikon kept us busy with the howitzers they brought along. Birds were the subject.

Yes, I suppose it does sound like a huge lens (it is). They were nice enough to mount it on a good tripod with a gimble head. that made a huge difference.
