Welcome to UHH, gasunrize.
I am going to be honest so take a deep breath and just relax.. what are you trying to capture in those two images? You cant just stick your camera in a direction a hit the shutter with auto settings and expect to capture anything meaningful. You have to think about composition and being creative. If your goal is to be artistic, i suggest reading the wonderful book "The art of Photography". Those are pictures. There is so much more that lies in front of you if you dig in and really try to do more than shoot and point. (Because you didnt even manage to point and shoot). Sorry if i come across as being rude, but it helps. Dang,.thats bad.

O, and btw, some people take me wrong when i am too harsh. There is supposed to be criticism here, and humor is added by me being the soup mazi. Keep it going, but please all kidding aside, buy that book. It changed my life.
Let's not be harsh to discourage a newbie. There's a vast
difference between the words critique and criticism.
That's really a nice 2nd picture posted.
You flunked the course on "How To Make Friends and Influence People" didn't you. You come across as a haughty, know-it-all, too many notches above everyone else. Take a chill-pill, my friend. Look up the word "diplomacy" and try applying it to your unsolicited comments.

Welcome, i really like the second one........
Love the angle on the second one ... too bad you didn't take a step or two back and capture the entire side.

Hello...welcome to the site!
I LOVE the second photo! The lighting and colors are great! Your choice of subject is wonderful too. The architecture is appealing to the eye. The window panes (of diagonal shape) are something we all don't see much of anymore. I found myself staring at the second photo for quite awhile admiring so many things there! Great Job! Keep up the good work!
I look forward to seeing more of your work.

While the criticism might sound a tad harsh, I understand what Rhino is saying. But I think ALL of us started out just pointing at something and pushing the button. I wish I could show you all a few of my first pictures, but they're long gone. It's only by shooting absolutely anything and everything that we learn what we like, what moves us, how we like to shoot, what our style is, etc. When you just point and shoot, later you will look at it and wonder what you could do differently with the next church, or flower, or barn, or whatever, to make it more interesting. Different angles, different times of day and lighting, long exposures, etc. Then you read books and articles and talk to people and join forums (I've only been here a short time and have already learned some great stuff and I've been shooting since I was 12!) and you will get better and better. The absolutely most important thing is to HAVE FUN!! Can I get an AMEN?!
I'm a new here hello to everyone.
