After Listening to some of your suggestions and a nice spring rain runoff, I snapped these three Photos at Amnicon Falls Near Duluth.

Absolutely stunning. Where exactly are these falls and how would I get there? I am planning on visiting Wis. in the fall.

Nice set. Have you picked up a colour cast or is it in the water?

When I take photos like these, the water typically does have a yellow cast to it. My guess would be that the run-off is coming through swamps, etc. and picks up a lot of dirt. Whatever, it is pretty natural.

Thanks for your reply. These falls are at Amnicon State Park about 10 miles East of Duluth/ Superior on Hiway #2 on the way to Ashland WI. IF you like water falls, continue on to Ironwood Mich. ( about 80 miles east) and Check out the series of Waterfalls at Black River Harbor. Awsome.

It's called tannin - a result of decaying leaves.

jwenz - do you have an interest in using a longer exposure and capturing the water in a more flowing or glassy look? You'd need a tripod for a long exposure and in a brigher environment, an ND filter. Looking at Above the Falls, it looks like you might have been able to go as 'slow' as 1/15 hand held and you'd have another version of these already great flowing water pics.

Thanks. I Have Been looking into that an I have a 230SX HS Canon Powershot. I'm looking to find a filter for it and give it a try. I forgot that tripod that day so these were hand held. I like you idea. Once I get a filter I will wait probably about 5 and one half years to get the fog overcast and the high run-off to do this again, by then who knows. Thanks.
