Hello fellow hedgehogs... Has anyone out there ever used/or purchased software for sharpening images. Quite a few of my images look soft and/or out of focus. I realise not much can be done about focussing so looking on the internet I discovered several software packages and one of them,Photo Sharpen, I tried. the result on my monitor appeared excellent. Now then I have no idea how images will print out so I am looking for some help

I also use Topaz sharpening plugin for Elements 11. It is not a miracle worker but has saved my bacon on more than one occasion. I also use their noise reduction plugin on almost all pictures shot indoors. They are a good company. I needed to install their plugin on a new computer and could not find the key code I purchased. I wrote to them and they sent me the key code for the latest upgrade which I had not purchased. So they have a customer for life.

I've used a few but the answer is; get tack sharp focus.
Nothing will sharpen a dull photo, not really...

Topaz "Plugins" (algorithm routines, not simple plugins) work on a wide range of programs. Indeed, Topaz is a great company with really accommodating/responsive customer service. They offer discounts for watching a live online webinar and also during holidays and especially deep last Christmas.
I have had Topaz for 5 years and never paid for an update, all free!!! I have purchased every sub program they have produced, one considering that the program was not one I needed, but that it would improve..... It did and now fits my needs. The actually have a stand alone base and also a add-on for (I think) Lightroom.
Just watched the TOPAZ InFocus tutorial on deBlur and Out of Focus. The presenter seemed very knowledgeable and anxious to make their products work and better. Not cheap but a great birthday present, especially with the free upgrades.
