Some in-camera multiple exposure shots.
Hi MJL :-) Unfortunately we have lost Steve O'Shea at the moment while he is away on his pilgramage, I am still lost on this aspect of photography so can't offer any real comment..sorry :-(

Hi Robbie, Things seem a little quiet around here while Steve is on his walk. I hope he is having a great time. In the meantime, the rest of us are still here shooting away and showing what we catch. These images are kind of a twist on the Orton Effect. Check it out on the internet. Interesting, and quite fun. Mike

I get where you are coming from with the colour and textured effect, but not keen on the defocused look.

Hi MJL :) I think Macro2009 is coming from the same area a myself, these days I have so much trouble getting things in focus and even when they are I have to view them in download to really appreciate what is going on..lol..Steve, you and some others specialise in an area of photography that maybe my physical limitations aren't possible for me to really get to grips with, that doesn't mean it's not well worth pursuing... :)

Thank you Robbie and Macro for having a look and taking the time to leave your thoughts. I've been trying to add something a little different to this close up forum but it seems that most have no interest unless an image is tack sharp. Perhaps I'll mix it up a bit more in the future.
I like number two a lot. I don't think the soft focus detracts from your photos. The third shot is too balanced so the composition isn't as interesting. #1 has an intriguing top right hand corner, but the rest of the image did not hold my interest. I think you just need to keep working on your idea until it works for you. It is not easy to control multiple exposures, and you already have correct exposure. Now work on colour variety, maybe line, and composition. I hope this critique helps you out. If you have questions please PM me. I would be happy to help.

Hi Mike just found internet at the Hostel so logged on. Have studied your images and as usual are technically excellent but I think the colors are not right in 1 & 3. The dream like state that you create usually allows the eye to flow into the picture but we unconsciously acsociate the color red with stop or danger and for me this stops me drifting into the image. I have seen your other work and the colors are more pastel and for me this works better.
Look at the great artist Monet´s work in the last 10 years of his life, he was nearly blind but painted what he saw and possibly remembered, he too blurred the subject. Don´t give up with this work, play with it and have fun.

Hi Steve,
Thanks for having a look and leaving your input. I see your point on #1 and #3. #3 also has no depth but it kind of reminded me of the flames of a gas furnace burner. As to giving up playing with this technique? Nope, too much fun.
How is your hike coming along? Mike

Beautiful and well done. The technique can also be done in post production with layers.

Thank you Dixiegirl. Your comments are appreciated. I have read this can be done in post production with layers, but I have not tried to do it that way...yet.
