Retired with my kiwi wife and loving it. New to photography so I'll watch and learn and may post once in awhile.
Welcome and great shot of the May fly. I think it will be a while before we see them in MN as they needed ice shacks today for the fishing opener on the norhtern lakes I believe.
I hear you Greg, may get snow here tomorrow. I was out fly fishing two days ago and a baetis hatch just bloomed all over the lake, awesome.

Welcome, where in NZ is your wife from?? Great shot, super focus, I like it.Cheers from Jean, NZ.
My dear wife is from windy Wellington, beautiful place. I prefer the south island though and the wonderful fly fishing and outdoor activities it affords. I love NZ and it reminds me so much of where I'm from here 60 years ago. It is just so gentle, and peaceful with friendly, loving people. Thank you for the kind words. That is a pic I took with a P&S before I got my DSLR.
Thanks Steve, cheers mate.
Jean, I don't think folks here would understand this shot from the south island.

Welcome to the hog fish. You will find lots of great, friendly people here to help you in any way possible. Take advantage and ask questions. And, post more than once in a while. Your first post of the may fly is really good. Great focus.
The second image is so peaceful with the sheep. Is nice....

Yes,, lots of that on our roads, if you ever get to come back for a visit, please contact me with private email, where -ever we are, you'll be so very welcome. And as we are hoping to move to the South Island, great photography options there. some of those sheep racing past a front gate, in Otago, for nostalgia. Cheers from Jean.

Melvin,
Great shot, love it. I spent almost 5 years up in Bremerton putting two aircraft carriers through the shipyard overhaul. The trout fishing is outstanding up there especially fishing the out of the way beaver ponds. Washington kinda freaked me out with their woods, heavy undergrowth and fast growing flora; some years you can't find the beaverpond you fished last year due to heavy over growth. Fly fishing has been a 64 year passion for me that I'll never tire of and looking forward to now taking my camera afield and document some of this.
