The Canon 430 is a slave flash just set it. You dont eed the pocket wizard it will fire from any flash.

Yes it is the Pocket Wizard that triggers the flash, so any hot shoe will do, you don't even need a hot shoe, you could mound the flash any way you want, or just set it anywhere you want, and it will work fine.
