Found her this afternoon over on the side lot I am cleaning up. I put down weed mate last fall but never got the mulch on it. :) She is right along the drive in the gravel. 3 eggs. Might get to see the babies, but I doubt it. Erv
A very nice series Erv   It looks like you got her fussed up on the third one. We have lots of them here in the Park. The little ones are really fast. In just a short time after hatching they are chasing each other and Mom. Nice shots

Nice! A few weeks ago, I saw three little ones and a parent running around at an rv park. First time I had ever seen little ones. I'm not around areas that they "nest in".
Thanks Bill.:):) I am already going to long for the break. She came in and ask if I was going to finish.:) Slave driver!!.:):) I am going up to mow the lake. About 5 more acres and I am done.:)

Very nice, I was so intrigued by the beauty of the bird I did not see the eggs till I read your narrative. Hope you get to see the babies, very neat thanks for sharing.
They do pick some dumb spots. I would like to put something around her to give her a little protection. But I don't know if anything would keep the Coons out. Erv

Amazing photos! I sure don't know how this species continues to thrive with the way they nest, but apparently it works for them!
I only see a few of them every year. But never the babies. I am going to watch this one closer.:) Erv
