what kind of lense do i want?

Hoping for some input,,,I have a nikon d40,d5000 and d7000 and am wanting to get a zoom and macro,,,,would like the 55 to 300 and perhaps a 60 or 85 macro,,,there are so many lens and discriptions,,i am not sure what to look for,,,,can anyone suggest them? I am not rich but a couple of nice middle of the road lens would be nice,,,,,thanks everyone!

You should indicate the lenses you already have. Without that information I'd suggest the 70-300mm vr and the 105mm macro. For macro, in general the more telephoto the lens the better to avoid getting too close to a live subject and scaring it away.

I have both those... the 60 and the 85...just remember the 85 is a DX version but it also has VR.

It really depends on what you have and what you need and what photos you hope to get - wildlife, sport.........

Then indicate the price range you can manage and you may get useful advice from members.

Otherwise you could be advised to spend a small fortune on a lens that would be of little use to you.

go for 18/200 for zoom and 105 for macro or 60 for macro
