Is there any particular attraction for the birds? Do the blooms provide food?
The cactus wrens and the woodpecker use the saguaro like an apartment house. They make holes and go inside. The dove make nests in the crooks' of the arms. As far as food, I think they are primarily interested in the insects that are attracted to the blooms.
