Has anyone used the new Tamron All-in-One 18-270mm PZD Af IS motor
15X zoom lens (Model B008)? Looking at promo pictures it looks kind of interesting. On sale $399. May be a good walk around lens?

I have the Tamron 18-270 on my sony alpha 55 and love it.

Of course, on the sony I use the IS in the Body so don't need it in every lens.

Hat it for about 15 mos now....quite sharp and is my normal "walk-around

Ihave to look up the model number I have... OK it's stamped B008

$399 seems a good price and well worth it IMHO

Wow! Fast response. I wonder how it will work on a Canon T3i? Thanks for your input.

Thanks, I saw that but I am hoping that I can get some feed back from a Canon user.

Hey bh........admittedly a bit off topic, but what is the name and location of your avatar pic? I so much want to tour the east coast just to photograph the light houses.....and maybe stay in a few that have been decommissioned and converted into B&B's.

Thanks for the response. Checking the B & H Photo site, the majority of owners of this lens appear to really like it. A couple of full frame camera owners were not too happy but the T2 and T3i owners appear to really like the new version with the PZD motor.

My wife uses that combo and it works Pretty well. It has some sweet spots but don't expect L quality sharpness.

bcheary I can not speak for that lens but I do have the 70 to 200 2.8 and it is an awsome lens.If the 18 to 270 performs as well as 70 to 200 you will not be dissapointed.Image quality is fantastic. The warranty is 6 years best in the business at that price I would say go for it.
