Amazon advertising

I have noticed Amazon is advertising Nikons' D200, 300s for prices I paid eight years ago. I agree they are great cameras, but a bit outdated by todays new cameras technology. I might be willing to get one of these for a backup, but not for the price they are asking. Is it possible this advertisement is a mistake? Just curious, thought I would ask others.

Check ebay, or B&H.

They are from private sellers who sell on Amazon. You can find some ridiculous prices that way.

I have noticed increased prices on Amazon also for photo equipment. My 24-70 Nikon zoom went up by $200! Plus, starting in Nov., I will have to pay state sales tax. Gotta get my stuff now! :-)

I've been paying them tax for years. Make a big list and start shopping.

Since I buy almost everything from Amazon, it's worth it to me. If I figure a minimum of $4.00 shipping per order, I break even after 25 orders. Mine just renewed, so I won't pay the higher price till next year.

You have to be careful of Prime items being more expensive than the same item offered as non-Prime. There is a lawsuit about that just beginning. It will be interesting to see how it works out.

And not all items you purchase from Amazon qualify as 'Prime'. The shipping part is about all I use...the rest is useless to me! I don't plan on renewing.....

I go for the lowest price. If Target or another store has it for less - delivered - then I buy from them. Usually, the Prime price is the best I can find. By the way, with the Target card, you get free delivery and 5% off every purchase.

I will keep Prime as I use Amazon a lot. Before they collected sales tax I ordered all my bucket list equipment! :-) I do shop around but Amazon seems to be the best. They haven't raised the Prime since 2005.

I seem to pay sales tax no matter where I buy.
