Why is it that when I upload to this site the pictures appear overexposed and lack contrast. Is there anything that I can do to correct this problem. They all look good on my screen.

Do you save your photos that you upload to web as jpg sRGB? If don't, that could be causing your contrast problems. The other thing that may help is to calibrate your monitor you're using to view and edit your photos on. Arnold

Try opening and viewing one of your JPG files using your browser directly on your computer.

If it looks different from how it looks in your editing program, then you need to change some color settings in that program, as it's not displaying colors in a more-or-less standard manner. (This is the most common case.)

If it looks good in your browser when opening locally, then try resizing it down to 600px and upload it to the forum. If the image is smaller than 600px, then the forum won't modify the file in any way.
