The following images are of two pair of Cardinals in different parts of the marsh.
The first two like to congregate on a stump and the second pair are in a dark pocket. The second pair have their nest completed. I'll keep an eye on it.
One of the males is banded and the only one like that, I've ever seen in the marsh.

I like the sentiment here about being inspired. So much better than when people say, "Oh I could never be that good!" Love the shots, btw.

Thank you Sandy. Keep trying and you'll not only get it but it will be sensational. I'm humbled by your comment.

   Joe, these are excellent!! I love Cards. You might want to contact the local birdwatcher group after you locate the nest. They might come out and band the chicks. Thanks for showing.

I do too Linda. And that's why Sandy will not only get that shot but beat me by a country mile in the process. The person that says "Oh I could never be that good." is defeated before they start. Good observation girl.

They might come out and band the chicks.
That won't happen. They haven't been too responsible here.

What a shame they will not come out. I guess they are just "watchers" not "doers".
I am simply bowled over by this series.

Pierre

Joe these are super, your work is always top notch, as soon as I saw you posted I made a beeline to see what you got this time, I'm never dissapointed. Where you able to get any information off the band? Bet someone would love to know where he is and what he's up to.

These cardinals are just so beautiful but what separates these from other beautiful cardinal captures is the backgrounds you are able to get to compliment them. There is just enough red hue in the background to make the bird just pop out. So well done, Joe.

I didn't mean they wouldn't come out, Pierre. I meant that they're not responsible in how they band. They use mist nets to capture them. The nets in themselves do no harm to the bird as long as the nets are checked every 15 to 20 minutes. On this day it had been well over an hour and the nets still hadn't been checked. I got angry enough that I cut two birds out of it. The first is a Common Yellowthroated Warbler that lived. The second one is of a Gray Catbird that died from the stress.
I won't be contcting anyone from that group about the Cardinal.
Thanks for the kind words.
