I have three lens. I like to challenge myself and just take one lens to do walk around photography. That means I need the right shoes to get the best angle/composition. What is your favorite walk around shoe?

"Merrells'" for me, please!! Thank you.
Over the last 30 years have owned their casual shoes, cross-country ski boots and back country hiking boots because I find them enormously comfortable and supportive. Never heard of "Weindl". John

Being a diabetic, I wear nothing but SAS Pathfinders. Unfortunately, they are no longer manufactured, so I am looking for another shoe.

Dr. Comfort I wear...If you have Medicare, you can get 1 free pair every year...Ask your MD about them...I also wear New Balaence shoes...

The "Dunham Cloud" by New Balance. One of the last shoe brands that are manufactured in the US! But this is not why you should get these! As the name implies, it's like walking on a cloud. Since I don't know what that's like, I just assume having these shoes is what it must feel like. :-)

I nearly put myself in a wheelchair wearing New Balance Rocker Heels. It made my hip and knee joints move differently and it got so painful I could hardly walk before I figured out what was causing the problem. (The shoes were very comfortable) ...an article in Readers Digest clued me...and my Dr...in (thankfully)....sorry, I don't know the month, but it was last year. Many Chiropractor treatments later, along with better shoes I can walk as good as can be expected under the circumstances. I'd also been using a different elliptical trainer at the gym (than the kind I'd had success with at a different facility) and that made the problem worse. Hope posting this helps someone else.
Regular New Balance are okay...it's the rocker heels on any brand that is the problem

I'm old school or broke however you want to look at it. I have a pair of work shoes and pair of sunday school shoes. Since I have my camera with me most times and wearing the work shoes for the most part it's the walking around pants that I need. I have trashed several decent pairs of pants, the knees, with doing macro photography for the last year. If I see it and the notion strikes me it's down on the knees photographing bugs..

Wear knee pads like tile setters have! Better than carrying a gardening knee pad around with you!...like I've been known to do..at least in the yard.;)

Depends on the season, but my closet is full of running shoes. Back in the day, I would run several miles a day. I would recommend a good pair of running shoes. They feel like my own feet. However, I thought everyone in So Cal wore flip flops?

Flip-flops are as bad as rocker heels. I don't wear them as they give no arch support and if a person has pronated (turned in) ankles it could cause back problems.

I tried them all to, Reebok, Nike, New Balance, Rockport and on and on. I haven't tried Merrill yet. I'll see if they have a local dealer and if not I'll pick up a pair at Amazon.

Thanks

Try wearing "walkfit" orthotics ($20 available in many pharmacies..Target carries them) they saved my feet and my back after several custom orthotics that didn't fit right. Walkfits are not for everyone as they only come in a few sizes, but even my Podiatrist recommended her patients try them first before springing for expensive custom ones.
If they help you, be sure to wear them constantly. Even walking around the house in stocking feet without them would bring on foot cramps from the change in support. I put them in my slippers for around the house.

Anything made by Merrill....awesomely comfortable!!! For guys and gals.

Haha, strange how different people have differing experiences. I was quite satisfied with Merrills various brands for quite a few years but around 2008 or so they switched to different Chinese suppliers and in my opinion their products have gone to pot. Their CS is still good and they will honor their guarantees but after having to return my last 4 purchases I am through with them. I have switched to Cole Hann, Johnson & Murphy, and Sperry. Wolverine is the only Merrill brand I will still buy. Hope they stay good for you.

It amazes me how many people wear flip flops all of the time. In the winter, I see people (mostly teeny boppers) wearing them in the snow. I see tourists climbing Harney Peak (7242 feet above sea level) wearing flip flops. They have to be developing problems because there is no support for ankles or protection from bushes etc.

I would never recommend any one to buy anything with the Merrill brand.
Some years ago now, there was a campaign over here to gain the right for members of the public to roam freely across mountains, moorland, and other types of open country.
In spite of strong opposition from rich landowners and other vesred interests, this campaign was successful, and parliament eventually passed a law, The Right to Roam Act.
John Merrill was an active campaigner against the law

No doubt he's a rich land owner.

Wearing them for long periods cause stress fractures to the small bones on the top of the foot...not a good option. I wear them when NOT shooting!

In Hawaii, those "slippas" are a standard item of attire throughout the islands. The podiatrists must do a good business there.

A lot of my walk arounds are in the back yard garden, so anything with flat soles, easier to clean off the dog poo. :)

Has anyone used Orthaheel flats or thong flip-flop type sandals? I can't seem to find comfortable sandals that give good arch and heel support. Would love to be able to wear sandals in the summer.

I have had good luck with Teva sandals.
