Hey Tom...you're getting really good with your bird shots :-D The 2nd bird is called a Rufous-sided Towhee...sometimes simply called an Eastern Towhee.

Jan, you have the touch. Not only just wonderful photos of birds, but you have your birds in beautiful settings. Some of the best I have ever seen. WOW

Just how do you set up for your photography?
Do you have a blind nearby.
Presume you are using some fairly long lenses.

One problem that I often face is to be able to draw birds out from under shaded tree limbs. Your shots are so very well illuminated.

Thank you so much for your very kind words :-D I use a variety of different cameras...from Sony and Canon bridge cameras...to Canon and Pentax DSLR's. Some have good zoom lenses and some don't. I never use a blind...although sometimes shoot from my car...more often than not...I just walk around till I see bird activity and wait for the right moment.
