It's very interesting to watch seagulls pick up a clam from the shallow bay, fly over the black top parking lot, drop it to break it open and enjoy. They will do it over and over till it breaks. Thirdly a duck looks for his dinner. All on a sunny spring day on LBI.

very tasty

I did not know that about seagulls, that requires intelligence. Living in Michigan, we were parked along the St. Mary's river and someone said, "strange there are no seagulls in sight". I looked and was amazed, not a bird could be seen. Having the feeling we were being watched, I threw a hand full of French fries on the parking lot, and within fifteen seconds I counted 23 seagulls fighting over the French fries, and more flying in for the take. Our Homeland Security feathered friends.

Neat! I've seen that too. Also saw a crow dropping a nut (maybe walnut) onto street. Couldn't tell if it was waiting for a car to run over and break it, or if it was doing like the seagulls.

They are quick. Just throw your hands in the air and see how many show up.

Had that happen more than once. Even a pork chop off the grill once, then got one with a cover.
