Hi all,
I have a question and hope it has not been discussed.
I have mixed feelings about the D7100: it seems not a major upgrade from D7000. Is it worth upgrading from D7000?
I have a chance to get a D7000 at a bargain price and I'm undecided. My gut says get the newre one but my head sats get the 'old' one because the upgrades are really only sensor and AF, which for me are not that important: I don't shoot under rain and for inside church I have the D700.
After my issues with the D600 I am not very committed to Nikon but the D7000 is a proved camera, right?

It is very proven and reliable. Have had mine for over 1 and 1/2 years with absolutely no problems. I take a minimal of 1000 pictures per month so it gets used regularly.

Have you any F/B focus problems. If so with which lens?
The D7100, don't forget, has about the best video output of any DSLR, including the top Canons and Nikon D800.
The D7100 sports a newly designed chip which is great for video, and the HDMI video output is uncompressed and stunning, save for the DSLR issue of a slightly under spec color space.

If you can get a D7000 at a bargain price, go for it. Probably the biggest upgrade is more pixels and a much better video in the D 7100. The D7000 has been around for about 2 1/2 years and it's still quite a capable camera. If you shoot a lot of video...go for the D7100.

I just had a client/photographer make the same decision. After careful research and thought, he chose the D7000.

I've not used the D7000 but I can tell you that I'm totally satisfied with my D7100. I use it mostly for outdoor shots both landscape and sports. I generally use a 24-70mm f2.8 or the 70-200mm f2.8 lenses and from my experience the above combination is hard to beat.
The upgrade in resolution between the D7000 and D7100 is significant. I have both the D7000 and the D800, but I'd love to have a D7100. It has 1/2 again the resolution as the D7000. This resolution is not just for blowing up photos. It also means that you will be able to crop the photos that you take much more without pixellating.
What about high iso performance?
Here is a video review of the D7100 which addresses noise and iso performance. Move the video forward to get to that section. Actual pictures taken a different iso's are shown.
