I took this yesterday, it was a very windy day, tried with tripod but it was blowing about. My hair kept getting blown over the lens (nowi know why so many male photographers shave their hair) it was a struggle but i shall be back there soon to try again - what can i do next time to make it better? I am happy for anyone to download and make and changes to illustrate any points made.
F10
1/60sec
50ml lens
CPL filter ( i dont know if it was the upside down, sideways or the right way up, just cannot seem to see much difference when i turn it)
thank you

Your rock appears to be walking on water. This is a beautiful picture. Thanks for posting.

It's a fine photo. Would have been better if there was a little more contrast, but you can't control the weather.

Beautiful photo with light and color. The only critique I have is to not center rock and instead set off center to right or left.

I think you did a great job!

Sharp, well exposed...horizon in a pleasing area...

My only complaint is that the WB seems a bit cool...the rock is bluish...

I warmed it up a bit and lowered the exposure and raised the clarity a bit...

Do you think that this is better?

I really like the image. On camera right it looks like a giant horse's hoof! I changed the tones a bit, but I think your image is very good, sharp, but just a bit blue.

Thank you all for your comments, i do agree that it looks better less blue, thank you for taking the trouble to do that.
The weather is beyond my control lovesphotos plus this is northern scotland and we are still awaiting the arrival of spring. Could it be the use of the CPL that increased the blueness of it?

Yes, the CPL may have done that. I know sometimes it is hard to tell just what effect it is having, but next time, try it in different positions and see what you get.

I really like the shot and with a tiny bit of editing, the blueness is gone!

This is interesting. The original shot is oozing potential. rpavich has lifted it, and Wendy has greened it. Which is the best?? I think the best is still to come. Very interesting study alycrom.

I guess the OP will have to tell us what it really looked like. Without being there we are all only guessing. Was it more yellow, more green or more white. Once we know that, there will be more good tries to come!

It was blue but a sort of dull grey blue yeah more grey than anything else. everything here is sort of grey lol which is why i tried the CPL to make it a bit more interesting.
