Exposure Meters

Of the three I use regularly, this is my favorite and most accurate. Salford Electrical Instruments Ltd. Photometer.

It can present a problem when travelling by air, as most TSA agents have no idea what it is.

Blimey it looks like a periscope off a submarine ! I usually use an android app on my cell phone... just because its a little less to carry.

Wow Really!? Does it work good? Which app is it? I always carry my phone so if it works good I won't buy a light meter. Thanks for the info

H sherrylynn download for free from playstore. just type in lightmeter in the search box...there are lots of them i use the one in the top left hand corner called "lightermeter" it works good with my galaxy note....

Crikey!! I had heard that there was another of these still in existance. Mine was used when 5 x 4 camera needed the accurate exposure for the expensive colour film with a less - forgiving exposure latitude. Don't use it now, the Profisix has taken over those duties.

Does it meter flash, and show the ratio of ambient to flash, as the OP requires?

I don't think it's accurate. You compare a builtin light spot to a spot on the subject. But yeah it's worth a lot of money. Very high quality built.
