Just did it using layers in CS6.....Thanks all for the kind comments. Have only had my Mark iii for a few months so am still trying to "really learn" the focus system....

OK, so what are the basics here? Mount camera on tripod, probably shoot in manual mode so background, focus, aperture and lighting don't change, use a camera assistant or a 10 second delay to get in picture? What else?

Yes, I used Manual mode, tripod, 10 second delay, no assistant! That is why I just about fell on the slide picture:) Take pictures into Photoshop as layers and blend together. Really easier than it looks.

Thanks Karelowe, I an inkling of what needed to be done, but just wanted to confirm it. I have had some experience of blending layers while focus stacking, so this isn't too much different.
