When shooting baseball at night, one picture will be darker than the other. I am shooting: Nikon D600, Tamron 70-200 f2.8 (older version), ISO 4000, shutter 1/800, White Balance set pre with white card, continuous focus, 4 frames per/sec.

Do you have the camera set on any auto mode?

AV, TV, or P or something?

So..you're saying that you are shooting in manual every thing...shutter/aperture, ISO...white balance..yet one picture is a different exposure than the other?

I noticed that one is zoomed...and it's the darker one...do you have a variable aperture zoom lens? (f/4-5.6 for example)

Nice glove side form. Often not taught.
#1 'Opposite and equal'.
#2 glove arm not dropped, nor pulled back. Glove side quiet.
Would like to see the next movement.
I used digital burst mode for teaching hitting/pitching for years. A picture is worth a thousand words.
