We were driving along a road in New Zealand when we rounded a bend and came upon this church. Must admit I've never seen a church this color before - or since. Nothing even close to it. Absolutely had to stop for a pic.

Played with it in Photoshop.

Hope you enjoy!

Nice work here Hangtowngal.I particularly like the small detail of what looks like a flock of geese in the back ground ( upper left). What part of NZ did you see the church? ( I live in Christchurch-South Island).

All I can tell you David is it was between the bridge and the lake/fjord. I believe it's the South Island.

We've been to NZ twice and are hoping to return. Love your city. Spent 5 days there two different times. Can't begin to imagine the damage caused by the earthquakes. Punting on the Avon, the Sky Tram, Antartic Centre, daytrip to Akaroa, the theatre.

Know it. I was born in Long Beach and moved up here from Tustin in Orange Co.

Hangtowngal, thankyou very much for that --- the Lake looks like it could be Manapouri or maybe Te Anau.
Yes, our city is not what it was ,but life goes on and for most ,it is a case of forge ahead, rebuild etc( we were fortunate in being relatively unaffected).
I am sending a shot of the Avon river which flows though the centre of the city, (taken before the earthquake), and a couple of my favourite landscape places, both not far from home.

My first thought was Te Anau too. Pretty sure it isn't Manapouri.

Great shots, David. Of course, you can hardly go wrong in New Zealand. The punting brings back wonderful memories and the lake is fantastic. Thanks for sharing.
